Singapore Airlines flies three flights daily to and from Singapore. We were flying out of Bali on the morning flight and would have preferred the afternoon departure giving us more time at the Conrad but could not get award availability on that flight. We left for the airport after a quick last breakfast at the Conrad and got to the airport with plenty of time left since there was no traffic.
There were no lines at the business class counters which we used thanks to my Star Gold Status. With bags tagged all the way to Penang and boarding passes and lounge invite in hand, we paid the 150,000 IDR departure tax/fine before proceeding through security and immigration.
Singapore Airlines uses the "Premier Lounge" in Bali. The lounge was spacious with adequate seating and an outdoor/smoking area with views of the ocean and tarmac. Even though they were serving breakfast with cooked to order eggs, we just had a couple more cups of coffee since we already had a substantial breakfast at the Conrad. One major disappointment was that there was no free Wifi in the lounge and you had to purchase Wifi time from the lounge desk.
Boarding was already underway when we got to the departure gate. We had pre-selected the "couple seats" that were located on the last few rows of the plane.
We got stuck on a non-AVOD 777-200. We started watching some movies that were already running after take-off but this flight would have sucked on a much longer flight. The cabin crew did a hot towel run before starting the meal service. I had pre-ordered a seafood meal online and was served first. The seafood meal was pretty good and consisted of noodles served with shrimp and fish. Lydia went with another noodle dish that was served with chicken instead.
We arrived early in Singapore two hours and I kind of wished the flight would have been longer just for me to finish the movie I was watching. We only had an hour or so layover in Singapore before our flight to Penang and I just spent it at the Green Market Lounge in Terminal 2, which I get free entry thanks to one of my credit cards while Lydia spent her time doing some window shopping. I was just going to have a cup of tea while I served the internet at the lounge but they were serving a Japanese set meal which I couldn't say no too.
The Silk Air flight back to Penang was uneventful and we just killed time browing through several magazines while reminiscing of the fun times in Bali we just had.
