Last BMI Hoorah: Hilton Dubai Jumeriah Residences

_________________________________________________________________________________

Entrance to the Residences

The Residences are located across the street from the actual Hilton Dubai Jumeriah Beach with it's own lobby. Arriving at the hotel at 3.30 in the morning, I was glad check-in was quick. We were also granted late checkout till 4pm which allowed us to sleep in a bit more the next day before our flight back to Malaysia. As Gold members, we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartments which was insanely bigger than anything we needed especially just for one night layover in Dubai.

Second Bedroom

We had actually wanted to stay at the "hotel proper" but there was only availability using my free night cert for the apartment or residences part of the hotel. At least this allowed me to do some laundry since the apartments came with a washing machine. There was no dryer though but it was not a big deal since clothes dried in a couple of hours when hung out to dry outside in the scorching Dubai heat.

We woke up the next morning just in time before the breakfast buffet was closing. As usual, breakfast was complimentary thanks to my Gold status. The breakfast area was busy and somewhat chaotic. The food was pretty good with your typical eggs, pastry, fruit and other breakfast selection.

After breakfast, we headed across the street to the beach. There were a ton of people but we did manage to find some empty lounge chairs. We lazed around for a couple of minutes before the +40 Celcius heat got to us and we took a dip in the sea. The water was surprisingly clean and clear and much better than the beaches in Penang! Before heading back to our room, we spent a couple of minutes lounging in and by the pool.

By this time, it was already two in the afternoon but did managed to get a quick nap before checking out. We spent the remaining time walking about the Jumeriah area but none of the shops were interesting before having an early dinner at the Philippine Chinese restaurant right by the hotel. Yes, I was missing my Chinese food and rice after all the traveling the middle eastern or western wasn't appetizing.
