Hilton Kuala Lumpur

Lydia and I were in Kuala Lumpur a couple of weeks ago for our US Visa interviews. We would typically stay at the Doubletree but surprisingly, the Hilton was actually cheaper. The hotel is located at KL Sentral which is easily accessible to and from the airport via the Express Train or bus. The downside is that the hotel is on the outskirts of the city itself and there's really nothing around this area. This didn't bother us since we were planning to just stay in.

There was no wait to get checked in. They were expecting us and provided us with an upgrade to the Executive floor and a welcome letter explaining the amenities.

Loved the modern rooms and fittings. The only downside was that the king bed was actually two double beds combined together.

Welcome Gift

We spent the rest of the day just chilling by the pool. The pool is more a "chill out/fun" pool than a lap pool. There's even a water slide!

We loved the Executive Lounge. There was plenty of seating and the staff was friendly. They remembered our names and knew how I liked my coffee on our second visit to the lounge.

Afternoon Tea
The offerings during evening cocktail was extensive and would definitely enough for someone looking to make dinner out of it.

There were plenty of restaurants at the Hilton. Since we were there for only one night, we only could try the Japanese restaurant, Iketeru. We were thinking of trying the Kaiseike meal but opted out after stuffing ourselves in the lounge and was dissappointed when our server couldn't explain what was offered as part of the Kaiseke meal. We ended up ordering a cold ramen salad and beef sukiyaki which was excellent.

Overall, this is going to be our hotel to go in Kuala Lumpur if the price is right and we're not looking to be right smack in the city itself.
